Summer is definitely in the air and it seems
that the seasons are changing once again. We can now sit
outside in the sun and feel really warm. Craig-y-Wig’s front
garden is a sun trap and when the sun is out what could be
better than enjoying a morning drink with a seaside view. As
the warmth of summer spreads its magic across this already green land we
know that more and more frequently we’ll be serving coffee
in the front garden!
The
terraces of New Quay have come into bloom, with the early
summer flowers now out and beginning to be at their very best.
The coloured cottages seem to shine in the warm sun and their
flower filled gardens enhance a truly splendid picture.
New Quay is sheltered from the prevailing south westerly wind.
This natural shelter provides a micro climate that adds a real feeling of warmth to the air. This climate is of
course the gardeners’ friend and a walk around the village
will soon uncover freshly dug vegetable beds and bright green
seedlings. Our own is no exception and we have recently
started picking our summer herbs and salads and our tomatoes
will soon be in the greenhouse. These we will serve for
breakfast later in the summer.
With the summer season comes the return of New Quay's resident
bottlenose dolphin population. They are now frequently seen
and as the water warms they will delight all with their daily
visits. All the wildlife trip boats are now running and our
visitors are benefiting from getting 'up close and personal'
with New Quay's unique marine wildlife.
Our Cardigan Bay room is now fully en-suite. This added
privacy has made a special room even more magical. The Garden
Room has seen improvements as well with added furniture (comfy
seating) and a 19 inch digital flat screen TV,
this room has become even more intimate and homely. Its
popularity is only likely to grow.
We are taking bookings quickly now and if you are planning
a stay with us during the peak season, now is the time to get
in touch.
